Associate Professors and Professors at ICP participate very actively in the management of teaching activities at the University of Paris Saclay, both at the Faculté des Sciences d’Orsay and at the IUT d’Orsay.
The topics taught, mainly centered on Chemistry, reflect the research fields of the laboratory: electrochemistry, thermodynamics, atomic and molecular orbitals, quantum chemistry, kinetics, mass spectrometry, optical spectroscopies, physical chemistry of living organisms... These topics are mainly related to section 31 of the CNU. Associate Professors and Professors also belong to other sections of Biology or Physics because of the interdisciplinary character of the institute. In addition, the researchers, engineers and technicians also participate directly or indirectly in the some theoretical and practical trainings.
Associate Professors and Professors also participate to the evolution of pedagogical practices and to the dissemination of knowledge through the publication of works.
Research based training through research during laboratory internships, immersion projects or research tutoring is part of the Institute's mission. In this context, the ICP welcomes each year many students at the Bachelor and Master levels, but also students from IUT or BTS and engineering schools.
20 to 30 PhD students [https://www.universite-paris-saclay.fr/recherche/doctorat] are usually present in the laboratory. They are supervised by directors holding the “Habilitation à diriger des recherches” (HDR). The PhD students take an active part in the scientific life of the institute, by organizing an annual PhD students' day and more informal meetings between PhD students or with other interns.
