FT-ICR Mass Spectrometer at Very High Resolution -- [E10]
Infrared Spectroscopy of Ions Integrated with Mass Spectrometry / 7T FT-ICR
The room is equipped with a hybrid FT-ICR mass spectrometer featuring a 7T magnet (Bruker Apex Qe), coupled with the Free Electron Laser, an OPO/OPA tabletop laser (2.5 -5 µm), and a CO2 laser (10.6 µm). This setup allows for deriving IR spectra of ions within the mass spectrometer. Ions are vaporized using an ESI or nanoESI source. The Ar introduction line used for CID (Collision-Induced Dissociation) fragmentation has been modified to introduce neutral molecules directly into the collision cell, enabling ion-molecule reactions. This device is part of the national INFRANALYTICS network and PEPR LUMA.

- FT-ICR Mass Spectrometer: Equipped with electrospray and nanospray sources. The sample solution is introduced into the spectrometer using a syringe pump with a constant flow rate of about 120 µL/h. Pressure is approximately 10⁻¹⁰ Torr. Resolution is around 1,000,000 at m/z 4000.
- OPO/OPA Laser (Laser Vision): Includes a Nd pump laser, an OPO, and an OPA. KTP (KTiOPO₄) and KTA (KTiOAsO₄) crystals are used to sequentially change the wavelength to the desired value.
- Chemistry Laboratory: Used for sample preparation, equipped with a balance, ultrasonic bath, and Sorbonne.
