IRMPD in 3D Quadrupole Ion Trap -- [E09]
Infrared spectroscopy of ions integrated with mass spectrometry/ESQUIRE 3000+
The room is equipped with a Paul trap mass spectrometer (Esquire Bruker 3000+) that has been extensively modified to couple with the CLIO free electron laser, an OPO/OPA tabletop laser, a CO2 laser, and an UV laser. An ion mobility device (DIMS) is also available on the ion trap. This setup allows for IR or UV spectra of ions to be derived, with isomeric forms separated by differential ion mobility beforehand. Ions are gas-phase ionized via an ESI source, and the ion trap is modified to introduce neutral molecules for ion-molecule reactions.

- The mass spectrometer is of the Paul trap type (Bruker Esquire 3000+) equipped with an electrospray source. It is a quadrupole trap (Paul trap) coupled with an atmospheric pressure ESI source. Resolution is approximately 5000 at m/z 3000. Pressure is around 10^-5 Torr.
- OPO/OPA laser (Laser Vision). The system consists of a Nd pump laser, followed by an OPO and an OPA. KTP (KTiOPO4) and KTA (KTioAsO4) crystals are used to successively change the starting wavelength until the desired one is achieved.
- UV Laser TRLi 850 (Litron). The laser, with an output energy at 1064 nm (approximately 130 mJ/pulse), can be coupled with second, third, fourth, and fifth harmonic modules.
