We continue to develop the radiolytic synthesis of metallic nanoparticles for biomedical applications, such as Pt-based nanoparticles for radiotherapy, which significantly enhance the effects of radiation [Salado2020] [patent]. Additionally, silver- and copper-based nanoparticles are being developed with antibacterial activities superior to those reported in the literature [Menendez2023]. A synergistic effect was achieved by modifying the surface of TiO2 with Ag-Cu bimetallic nanoparticles for antifungal applications [Mendez2019].
