Quantification of Radical Species
Regardless of the intended application of new irradiation sources such as ions, electrons, or cold plasmas, precise knowledge of the emitted reactive species is necessary. Indeed, the identification and quantification of these species are prerequisites for establishing the chemical mechanisms responsible for the damage induced on targets. In this context, our team optimizes chemical dosing protocols for radicals to make them compatible with irradiation conditions. Thus, we have been able to determine the concentrations of electrons and hydroxyl radicals generated in water during irradiations by cold plasmas. [Ducrozet2024]
