Photon Interaction
The "Photon Interaction" research focus within the CAPRI group, led by Debora Scuderi, represents a major research area with a significant legacy.
This focus area encompasses several objectives:

- Structural characterization of ionic species in dilute phases. The use of the tunable Infrared CLIO laser enables the induction and measurement of ion fragmentation at specific wavelengths. This allows for recording the IR absorption spectrum of the targeted ionic species and provides precise structural information.
- Study of the photoionization and photoactivation of small molecular species. Using laser or synchrotron sources, it is possible to describe the spectroscopy of small molecular species, both stable and transient, and to induce their photoactivation.
- Use of light in analytical chemistry, whether in detecting light emissions specific to certain biomarkers, as applied in the NanoCODE patent, or in the specific fragmentation of proteins, as in the UPHEBOS project.
